I'm Joe Thrailkill, amateur photographer from SW Ohio. I transformed my home darkroom into living space and now use only digital. I sold three 35mm cameras and a bushel of lenses and now explore with my Canon 30D and a growing number of lenses. I am building my equipment to support studio, portrait, and wedding photography as well as outdoor work.

Please leave comments and suggestions on what you see. I’ve been fortunate over the years that some very generous folks have made suggestions on technique and subject matter. In addition, nothing would please me more than your suggestions on how I can improve my work.

For the curious, anavado is a family name derivation from my five-generation back Grandmother, Ana Wan Can, a Cherokee tribal leader.
